Other Info
Cosmetics have been a mainstay since the earliest of civilizations, from the ancient Egyptians up until our current modern society. In this lecture given by Tiffany Apan, site director of the Neville House, learn of the many cycles and influences that came with the use of makeup and various beauty products throughout the ages, along with some widely believed myths, and perhaps discover that what is often perceived as a 'new trend' may not be so new after all.

Cosmetics Through the Ages is part of the Woodville Plantation's Sunday Brunch Series and therefore brunch will be provided along with the lecture. The event will take place in the Stillhouse and the schedule will commence as follows:
11:00-11:30AM - Brunch is served
11:30 - 12:15PM - Cosmetics Through the Ages
12:15-12:30PM - Q&A
12:30-1:00PM - Converse and explore the Neville House grounds

After the Sunday Brunch event, all are welcome to stay and take a tour of the Neville House, which will be open to the public from 1-4PM.

The Home of John and Presley Neville, circa 1780

Woodville, the John and Presley Neville house, is Southwestern Pennsylvania’s principal link to the late 18th century, interpreting the time period of 1780-1820 and documenting the lives of the three families that resided there, the Nevilles (1775-1815), the Cowans (1815-1835), and the Wrenshalls (1835-1975).
