A Walk in John Neville’s Garden and a Summer Emporium
August 4 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Join us for a walk through the Neville herb and kitchen gardens! Come see and learn about herbs and vegetables that were commonly grown in the early 1800’s. Our gardens are heirloom to 1825 and earlier. Learn how herbs were used for both healing and cooking at the time, and compare it to how they’re used today. Leave with a few recipes from the 1800’s too! This year a garden highlight is “Three Sisters”, a Native American method of companion planting corn, beans and squash together. Hear a bit of history around this Native American planting and stories that go along with it.
