Eager to Serve: An Evening with George Washington
September 14 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm$18
George Washington’s life was inexorably intermingled with western Pennsylvania.
From spying on the French in 1753 at the young age of 21, to the taking of Fort Duquesne, to suppressing the Whiskey Rebellion as president, Washington visited our area seven times. These important trips over a 41-year period contributed greatly to weaving the fabric of western Pennsylvania history.
Join local historian and author Jonathan Klemens as he takes us through the journey of one of our country’s founders, uncovering his reasons for visiting Western Pennsylvania.
Light hors d’oeuvres, period correct desserts, and a variety of beverages will be served in the Neville House dining room, with the lecture held in the parlour.
