Making a Petticoat with the Pittsburgh Historical Costume Society *SOLD OUT*
October 19 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
Join us for a basic beginner’s workshop, making a simple 18th century piece of clothing: a petticoat (or an 18th century woman’s skirt)! This is a project appropriate for beginners and experienced sewers alike. The finished project can be used for any 18th century occasion, and is also interchangeable with most stations and classes, and more! If you are new to living history and reenacting, this might be the project to help get you started on your 18th century attire. For those more experienced, this might give you something to make with that beautiful piece of fabric you might have been trying to find something to do with!
Participants will be provided with a list of items to bring and where they might be able to purchase some fabric if needed.
This event is for ages 13 and up, though a child as young as 10 may attend if accompanied by an adult. The workshop will take place in the Stillhouse at Woodville Plantation.
Seating is very limited, so reservations are required.
